Almost 8 million downloads in the App Catalog Until October 5th

A little over a week ago when everyone reported on the the new way Palm would be enabling developers to release their applications via the web, rather than solely through the App Catalog. It would appear everyone fail to notice something very important at the end of Palm’s press release.

What everyone seem to missed on that last paragraph was the following: “Finally, we would like to take a moment to thank our early access partners and developers who have been working with us to build our platform and program. Today these partners have introduced over 125 applications that have been downloaded almost 8 million times since the first webOS device, the Palm Preā„¢ phone, shipped just three months ago. It has been great working with you, and we look forward to more!”

Well, that was then, today, the Palm Pre is not only in the American Continent, but also in Europe. Not only that but, there are more than 125 applications in the App Catalog by now, 151 if I’m correct. So there must be already a little over 8 million downloads by now, I guess Palm will let us know soon.
