There has been more debate over exactly how many Pres Palm and Sprint have been able to move since it launched than any other phone in recent memory. Much of the debate stems from the fact that Sprint and Palm are mum on official numbers.

Some analysts say that as many as 300,000 Pres were sold as of late June making the Pre a success by most accounts. However, differing reports have been released since then. A report was issued yesterday from iGR that offered numbers derived from polling Sprint stores and asking a series of questions about the Pre.
According to the poll of 50 stores, there are plenty of Pre’s in stock and none of the stores had sold out of the Pre with the crux being 300,000 sold was too big a number. The research firm claims that the poll show Palm is meeting the demand for the Pre. Analyst Edward Snyder on the other hand issued a report saying Palm was building 15,000 Pres per day and about 300,000 were sold in June. We will have to wait for official numbers from Palm to know who’s correct.
