I want more battery life for my smartphone as much as the next guy. However, I draw the line at gigantic batteries that are so fat they can’t even fit under the battery cover of the phone. I mean there is a point where extra runtime is offset by ugly, and the people at PreThinking have found that point.

One of the things that I dislike most about my iPhone (other than AT&T's sketchy network) is that you can’t tether the device. Sure Apple offers tethering but AT&T has the feature blocked because they are a-holes. Yeah I said it.

I was never a big fan of Seinfeld when it was actually on the air. I watched a few episodes of the show, but I never really found it funny. Seinfeld the was sort of like The Office is now for me, I don't see the humor.

Palm is certainly looking beyond the exclusive contract with Sprint for its Pre as a means to open the device up to much higher sales volumes with carriers like Verizon looking to offer the handset. Palm is surely trying to sign up more major and minor carriers for the device as well.

One of the things I like about the iPhone I use is that it will sync my bookmarks from Internet Explorer to my phone. The feature would be more useful if I still relied on IE rather than Firefox, but still it's a nice feature.

I would say that of the phones that have generated lots of buzz so far in 2009, the Pre is one of the most buzzed about. At the same time Windows Mobile, phones haven’t generated an iota of the buzz that Android, the iPhone, and the Pre have.

One of the things that I have never had much personal use for is VoIP. I don’t; use it on my computer and I have never felt the need to give VoIP a shot on my mobile phone. Some people feel differently though and if you are a Pre user you will have several VoIP choices soon.

Sprint reported a large loss and a significant customer defection in its most recent earnings report. Sprint lost about a quarter of a million subscribers over the last quarter despite finally having a high profile handset with the Palm Pre.
