BillShrink, a popular phone plan and credit card selection/comparison optimizer, has posted a truly fair and not nit-picky comparison of the Palm Pre and iPhone. They look pretty evenly matched, except the Pre has a keyboard, one-upping the iPhone there.

BillShrink allows the user to select between the two phones and then customize their options with the best plan to fit their needs. In the end, BillShrink will do that, shrink the user’s bill, to determine the lowest cost plan that would best fit the user’s requirements.

As of now, there is no price listed for the Pre, so it is unknown what the final cost of the plan plus device would be, but we should be looking for a similar hardware cost for the Pre if Palm wants to stay competitive with the iPhone. Interestingly, if you look at the “Specifications” on the Pre, it lists things such as video capture as a feature. We suspected this, but it was never confirmed. It also lists that the iPhone has Video Capture as well, which currently is only a rumor through the iPhone 3.0 Beta.
