According to our sister site SlashGear, Palm was crowned “Best In Show” at CES for its press conference unveiling the new Pre smartphone.  The Pre announcement came with high expectations and was considered by many to be a make-or-break event for the former PDA powerhouse.  In the eyes of many, Palm delivered and then some.

The Pre is the first mobile phone to win the Best In Show honor at CES, an event where numerous technology-oriented companies come to show off consumer electronics and other gadgets.  Following the announcement of the Pre, Palm’s stock jumped 35%, an indication that stockholders believe in the new device.
