One of our staffers has found the first hint at what apps might cost on the Pre App Store. We all know the Pre on-device app store is still in beta and many of us have wondered what the final pricing will be.

According to xBerserker in the About Spaz section in the Spaz app there is a telling little sentence that says, “Our plan is to charge $3 for the 1.0 version.” That seems cheap enough and isn’t that out of line with pricing for iPhone apps.

Typically, the most expensive iPhone apps go for about $10, though a few sell for more than that. The average iPhone App is around $1 and there are hoards of free apps available. I hope that the Pre App Store will also offer lots of free games and applications.
