Brighthand.com has reviewed the Palm app MotionApps Classic that emulates the older Palm OS allowing apps for older devices to run on the webOS Pre. Despite the fact that there will be no more Palm OS devices many users of older Palm PDAs and smartphones likely have apps that they use and still want access to.

The software adds an on-screen D-pad and hardware buttons since the Pre lacks them. The PIM software is still included in the app, but the browser and email app are missing. The reviewer says that he was able to get his contacts, calendar entries, and memos running on the Pre in a few minutes.
In the end, the MotionApps Classic is described as a transitional aid that will help long-time Palm OS users migrate to the new Pre and future web OS devices. The app does support the Palm OS games that users may have on their old devices. The app sells for $30 and is a bargain for the gaming features alone says the reviewer.
