For many of us, Google Talk is enough to have a regular chat with friends and family from our Palm Pre phones. But, for many more people out there, that is not good enough. They wish the native messaging app on the Pre had more than AIM and GTalk. It would seem that they might get their wish come true.

Mundu is at the moment, hard at work on a WebOS app, meanwhile, they currently have a mobile version of the IM client that you can use for free on your Pre’s browser, just head to pre.mundu.com from your Pre. They are also working on a native application for WebOS that will include the following messaging clients: Yahoo, Google Talk, Windows Live/MSN, AIM, ICQ, and Jabber.
According to Mundu, you will be able to chat with multiple friends, colleagues or clients, as well as able to photo Sharing and transfer files from your mobile device to friends and colleagues. I can’t help but wonder, why in hell Palm is not giving us a more elegant way to have all these IM protocols directly integrated into the native messaging app. Ok, rant over. But seriously Palm, why?
