While Sprint may be holding off full-scale advertising out of concerns that Pre stocks may not be sufficient for demand, it doesn’t mean the carrier isn’t planning to hold at least one launch party.  My Pre has been invited to Palm and Sprint’s launch event on Wednesday June 3rd, and we’ll be bringing you all the gossip and news in advance of the Pre’s release.

The event will somewhat confusingly mix together the Pre we’ve all been so eagerly anticipating with a California Farmers Market, plus a cocktail reception that will benefit “Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America”.  We’re not entirely sure where Sprint and Palm got their inspiration from, but honestly this could only happen in Hollywood.

Sadly we can’t take the My Pre forum members with us to the event, so we’ll have the next best thing: photos and video to tide you over until the Pre itself lands on June 6th.  How many of you are planning to queue up on Saturday morning to pick up a Palm Pre?  Let us know in the comments.
