One of the things that I dislike most about my iPhone (other than AT&T’s sketchy network) is that you can’t tether the device. Sure Apple offers tethering but AT&T has the feature blocked because they are a-holes. Yeah I said it.

A slick app for the Pre is available called My Tether that allows you to tether the Pre for use as a 3G USB modem. The app is even free, assuming you can install and configure it manually. The big catch is that the app isn’t officially supported, but Palm seems to be very hacker friendly perhaps they won’t block the feature.

If you aren’t able to install and configure an app manually, you can spend $10 for a version that has an installer to do all the hard work for you. The app seems to work pretty well on the demo video.
