Palm have released a new video demonstrating the Pre in action. The clip, which you can see after the cut, shows the Pre’s calendar, and the integration between appointments and contacts, together with the smartphone’s browser and its sharing functionality. It also demonstrates the GUI, which is looking particularly slick; we’re big fans of the folded schedule list, which concertinas out to show the full day.

There are also a few hints at some of webOS’ customization possibilities, including what looks to be the ability to add specific webpages to the Pre’s launcher (above ‘Share’ in the browser there’s an “Add to launcher” option). It’ll be interesting to see whether Palm allow you to add custom search pages to the search list (which currently only contains Google, Google Map and Wikipedia) sin a similar way.
What does all this mean? Well, on the one hand it’s another chance to look at how well Palm have integrated all the standard smartphone functionality into a very slick package with webOS. But, coming so close to Mobile World Congress - which officially kicks off tomorrow – it could also be a sign that Palm are bringing the much-anticipated GSM Pre to launch, hopefully with a European carrier partner in tow. Pre Community is at MWC and will be bringing you all the Palm announcements.
