Palm Eos/Pixie Delayed Until 2010?

Remember the rumors from April about a second handset from Palm sporting the brand new webOS. Back then the rumors talked about a mini-Pre running webOS, which wasn’t far in development, and was set to reach the market in late 2009, potentially as early as the fall.

Then along came the ROM leak, which confirmed the existence of a second webOS device. And it wasn’t long after that people started to speculate about the fate of this new webOS device. This new phone’s fate they said, was pending on how good – or bad – the sales were for the Palm Pre.

And now, Ilya Grozovsky, an analyst from Morgan Joseph stated, “We think that the Pixie, which we believe is being geared for AT&T and has a different form factor than the Pre, is not likely to be available for the 2009 holiday season,” in a research note to clients. Of course he didn’t cite any sources, not even the anonymous kind.

The good news is, Palm has always said that the Pre is not the only device in the pipeline that will use the webOS. So now, at Christmas or in 2010, having a second handset from Palm with webOS should be exciting, especially if the rumored price of $99 is right.
