We’ve already seen a brief demo video of the Pre’s activation process, but if you want to know exactly what will be happening on June 6th once the Pre is in your sweaty-with-anticipation hands then Inside Sprint Now have the full details.  As you might expect, for the buyer it’s a straightforward walk through language settings, setting up a Palm Profile and then agreeing to various ToS.

The Palm Profile is used to synchronize and remotely back-up your data, while the ToS includes options to shut off location-based services in case you’re particularly wary of things like anonymous GPS information collection.  According to ISN, for most people the whole process should be complete by the time they switch on.

Still, if you’re sat holding the phone while you wait, the hardest part about all this is having to wait until the agent has finished going through the activation process before you can turn the Pre on.  Still, that should only take a few minutes, and then you’re ready to sacrifice your email identity to Palm’s Profile system and go through the tutorial video.
