As most of you already know, Verizon wireless will get the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus by January 25th of this year (as in five more days). But how about AT&T, we know they said at CES 2010 that two webOS devices are coming in the first half of the year, so is safe to assume they meant the Pre and Pixi handsets.
Now that we know that a variant of the Palm Pre GSM for the Noth American market is coming to Canada, I reckon it will be also coming to the good ‘ol US of A. The folks over at Precentral have spotted some server logs showing not only the Palm Pre, but also the Palm Pixi running on AT&T IP addresses.
Now something interesting about this is that both the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi handsets are sporting a webOS version 1.3.8. That is not a far-fetched scenario if you really think about it, we have webOS 1.3.5.1 already on our Pre handsets, and version 1.4 will be soon available.
So is safe to expect that when these webOS devices launch on AT&T, they will have the same 1.4 update that we are getting in February. Now if we could only get our webOS devices with more internal storage a la Palm Pre Plus that would be great. Hope Verizon’s exclusivity on that isn’t for too long.
