Palm Pre dev camp starts August 7





The market for apps for smartphones like the Palm Pre and iPhone is booming and some developers are making big money from seemingly simple apps that are offered on smartphones. The popularity of apps on the Pre has led to a developer’s conference that will be held this month.

The non-profit group called PreDevCamp has announced that running from August 7 to 9 a weekend event will be held in 80 cities around the world that will host 1300 different developers. The developers at the events will write applications for the Pre.

The events will include presentations, refreshments, and hackathon where the developers for the Pre can pool creativity and experience to write new apps for the phone with the Mojo SDK, JavaScript, and HTML5. BlueSwitch, PreCentral, O’Reilly, and Adobe are all sponsors of the event.
