If there’s any truth to this latest Palm Pre rumor, you’d be able snag up a Pre phone on launch day at Best Buy and completely bypassing Sprint altogether.  The length of exclusivity is believed to be 60 days, according to an unnamed “credible source”.

Personally, this rumor makes logical sense.  Best Buy has survived as a mega electronic store while others like CompUSA crashed and burned.  Best Buy has the experience, relationship and previous exclusivity of the Instinct phone back in 2008.  The trio may have a winning combination here: Palm, the maker of the Pre, Sprint providing the network and Best Buy as the distribution channels.
