You’ve read the exclusive My Pre review of Palm’s new smartphone, now it’s time for the company’s first advert for the Pre to make an impression. Contrary to expectations, Palm’s huge Facebook set doesn’t make an appearance.

The advert was filmed among the mountains of Luoping, a hard-to-reach area in China, and used 1,000 Kung Fu students as extras. According to Palm, the user’s connections are represented by the waves of people.
As you might expect, “Flow” is already prompting differences of opinion. Some think it’s an interesting piece of footage and are praising Palm for neither making the usual whiz-bang “look at everything it can do!” commercial nor trying to persuade viewers that it’s an “iPhone killer”. However others aren’t impressed at all, claiming it lacks identity, isn’t memorable, and doesn’t show off the Pre to its best advantage.
