As we all know, homebrew for the new Palm webOS has been growing and getting a lot of attention, not to mention the over million downloads already. Well now, those who like hombrews or like getting personal with their devices more than regular users, will appreciate the new webOS Themes Gallery.

Like the Homebrew App Gallery, this new webOS Theme Gallery consists of user-contributed themes to help Pre owners to make the most out of their beloved device. Those themes are available as a zip file download, which you can then install via the WebOS Quick Install tool. Precentral’s Jason Robitaille is the talent behind both; the WebOS Quick Install tool, and the Web OS Theme Builder desktop application that was use to make the themes.
Now remember, themes basically work by replacing system files on your Pre, mainly graphics files. So, thinkering with your Palm Pre is a risk that you should not take if you don’t feel comfortable doing it, especially if you don’t know what your doing. Also remember that a new update to webOS is close, so, as with patches, you should always remove themes before installing any webOS update. And do not worry, you can always put them back later using the new version of WebOS Quick Install, which now makes it easy.
