Well, you already know the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus will arrive at carrier Verizon wireless pretty soon. Now is time you get some info on how this two handsets compare with the original webOS devices. The folks over at Precentral had some time to play with both, Pre and Pixi Plus.
For starters, it is obvious that these two “new” devices are better then the “old” ones. We already know they have twice the memory and the storage space, that is a big plus alone compared to my first gen Palm Pre with Sprint. The Pixi Plus also adds WiFi and new battery door colors, the Pre Plus doesn’t have the “home” or “navigation” button in the middle of the gesture area, which makes it look better.
The keyboard now is white and gray, instead of white and orange, personally I really like the orange since helps to find the keys faster. It appears that the keyboard on the Pre Plus feels just a bit better than the original Pre, but unfortunately it doesn’t have the clickiness you get on the Pixi. Besides the Mobile Hotspot app and video capture, the only new software on the latest webOS devices was Verizon Navigator. So these 2 devices are actually just a little step up from the original ones with a few upgrades.
