Many Sprint customers wanted to get their hands on the Pre when it launched and were unable too. Palm said that it was building Pres as fast as possible and Sprint said it was getting shipments daily.

Despite those facts, shortages continued. Analysts are now reporting that the supply of the Palm Pre and demand for the handset have reached equilibrium. About 40,000 of the handsets are sold each week.
According to analyst Paul Coster from J.P. Morgan, shipments to retailers are less frequent than two weeks ago, but overall demand is constant. Coster estimates that 210,000 Pres shipped in June and 230,000 more will ship in July and August.
