Since the announcement of the Palm Pre, the media has had a frenzy with news coming from every direction. Somehow the Pre has remained mysterious and always bring people back for more. One of the largest reasons this device is so interesting is the interface of “cards” that have each program on a different card.

Running multiple programs at one time is something that Apple’s beloved iPhone cannot even do. Having all these live widgets active on the home screen is truly something amazing. The ARM Cortex A8-based OMAP 3 processor that the Pre packs is a good 3 times faster than the ARM11 core processors enabling a boot time that is as quick as 4 seconds with 4 times the graphical performance.

The Palm Pre seems to be right on the verge of moving mobile phones to a whole new level in design and innovation into what the TI call ‘laptop type processing’ as standard.  What this transfers into is no more lagging web browsers or hang-ups when scrolling down a page.
