Yes, we know, some analysts are just clueless, it makes us wonder how anybody believes them. But hey, somebody has to do the guessing, right? Well, here we go with more about analysts, guessing, and a date that a lot of us have been waiting for.

September 17, 2009 at 1:30 PM Pacific Time, is that date. Well, maybe, but we all hope to get – finally – a number on how many Pre smartphones Palm has sold. Really Palm, this game of speculation is getting old. Give us real numbers, or face the wrath of analysts, bloggers and people in general. Now, lets move on to the guessing part.
According to a research note from Town Hall investment Research, analyst David Eller indicates that Palm Pre sales are “slowing down” and will probably miss Sprint’s target of 1 to 1.5 million customers for the year. David blames this on the strong competition from the iPhone 3Gs and the BlackBerry Tour, besides from the slow market.
Eller thinks Palm will start shipping the much-rumored and anticipated second WebOS phone – which we all know as the Pixie or EOS – in November, with a price below the Pre. He thinks the EOS/Pixie will be more successful if it’s price point is lower than the Pre.
