Yeah, so what if Apple’s about to reach 1 Billion app downloads. Palm has an email with Fandango and FlightView! Yeah! That’s right. And Palm is making sure you know it by sending out an email! Who cares that Apple is giving away a $10,000 iTunes gift card, a MacBook Pro, Time Capsule and iPod Touch?  Well, I’m sure other people do, but not us. We’re the Palm faithful and whatever we do, we’re not going to go out and enter to win all that free Apple stuff.

Ok, I think the Kool-Aid wore off there. For reals though, Palm sent an email to its loyal flock advertising the capabilities of Synergy with FlightView and Fandango, which are both stellar applications. I can say that from personal experience.  However, it remains to be seen if there will be 1 billion downloads of App catalog apps come the year anniversary of the Pre launch.

I hope that Palm meets nothing but success, and this email is a sign that the launch date (or at least the announcement) is imminent. The Pre advertising has been kicked up a few notches, and I’m happy to see these emails, even though I had to fish it out of my spam filter.
