Palm to demo unseen Pre features at D7

new_pre_featuresIt’s hard to believe that, with little over a week to go until launch, there’s much left of the Palm Pre to be revealed, but according to Walt Mossberg the smartphone will be spilling a few more secrets at the D7 conference this week.  Not only will Job Rubinstein and Roger McNamee be talking “in more detail” about the Pre, they’ll also be demonstrating features “that haven’t even been speculated”.

“And they [Palm] are not only are going to come and talk in more detail about the Palm Pre than you have seen before, but they’re actually going to introduce some things that haven’t even been speculated, uhh, that the Palm Pre’s going to be about to do that haven’t even been speculated on the blogs, and they’re going to show some cool features” Walt Mossberg

The soundbite comes at around minute eleven in this video, and there are no more hints as to what might be on show from the Palm guys.  Thinking back through some of the more obvious features identified as missing in previous demonstrations – Flash support, video recording, video MMS and visual voicemail – all of those have been well “speculated” about and, seemingly, aren’t what Rubinstein and McNamee have to show.

There’ll also apparently be “the funniest video ever we’ve had from Roger McNamee”, according to D7 co-host Kara Swisher.  More news as we get it.
