After all this time, Palm has opened up officially the developer program, now any developer can submit his/her applications. Palm is closer to its goal, which is in their own words, to “bring the true power of the web to a mobile platform for the first time.”

The official App Catalog remains, of course, but with the web distribution feed that Palm has opened, is now easier for developers to submit their app. Palm will now provide them with a URL for a direct download with out having any review or approval process.

There are also new tools and a new look at Palm’s developer website. And developers will have the chance to pocket $1 million in cash bonuses for those who have the hottest webOS apps. Well, I don’t know about you, but $1 million bucks seem like a great prize for those who step up.
