I think my wife might be a vampire. She simply can’t leave a light on in any room of the house for longer than five minutes. Being the typical economy of motion guy (i.e. – lazy) I don’t usually bother flipping on the light when I go into the room. That means I often end up standing in my office fussing about in the dark trying to plug my iPhone in to charge.

One of the coolest things about the Pre to me isn’t a feature of the phone, but it the Touchstone charge stand. We all know already that it’s an angled stand that charges the Pre in conjunction with a special back plate by simply placing the phone on the stand.
David Pogue points out that there are three things that many users didn’t know about the Touchstone stand. First, it’s not included with the Pre, but is a $70 option. Second you have to replace the glossy back panel with a textured one. That has to look strange. Third Pogue says that you can place the Pre onto the stand in an odd position where the magnets grab but the phone won’t charge. Pogue says look for the battery charging message on the phone to know you did it right.
