CNET has pitted the Pre and the iPhone 3GS against each other in three speed tests to see which handset offers the most performance. The tests included boot time, loading a webpage, and taking and sending a photo.

The pre beat the iPhone in two of the tests, which are admittedly not very scientific. The tests were conducted in San Francisco where the iPhone is plagued with network problems according to reports.

The speed tests also included the iPhone 3G for comparisons. The pre lost the boot up test to the iPhone taking a whopping 1 minute and 46 seconds to boot up. You could have made several calls on the other devices in that length of time. Check out the link below for video of the tests.
