The Pre sold very well over the weekend after launching on Saturday. Many Sprint stores had lines of people waiting to buy the handset and many locations sold out quickly. The launch was nothing compared to the iPhone launch, but no one including Sprint and Palm expected that sort of launch.

Sprint has announced that the Pre sat a new sales record over the weekend for the wireless company. Sprint said that by late Sunday, the Pre had broken the record for previous sales for the first day and first weekend a device was available.
Sprint also talks about a guy named Theodore who was in line to buy a Pre on his wedding day. He was 14th in line and asked a Sprint employee to hold a Pre for him so he could make his wedding on time. The employee agreed and after the service he and his new wife went back to pick up the phone. I bet he spent the first night as a married couple on the couch.
