The Pre sold very well for Palm and Sprint when it launched this month. While, the Pre may have sold well, but it’s having a hard time generating downloads from its meager application offerings. Medialets has offered up download stats for the Pre since its launch.

After two weeks of operation the store had generated a bit under 700,000 application downloads. Consider the fact that Apple generated 500 million downloads in six months and you can see that Palm is well behind.
That said, even Palm admits it’s no Apple. Palm is trying to woo more developers to create app for the Pre with a WebOS SDK that will be released. At this point he Pre app-store has a mere 30 apps, by comparison the Apple App Store has 500 apps at launch.
