The Palm Pre has proven to be a reasonably popular smartphone here in the U.S. despite the fact that there is debate on how many units have actually been sold. Sprint still hasn’t released official numbers.

The Pre is set to debut in Canada on August 27 on Bell Mobility. This will be the first sign of how popular the smartphone will be on a larger and more popular wireless network. The Sprint network that offers the Pre in the U.S. is well behind AT&T and Verizon in subscribers.
Bell will offer the Pre for $600 without a contract and a minimum data plan of 500MB. Those who opt for a 36-month voice and data contract can get the Pre for $200. I am not sure if those figures are in Canadian or U.S. dollars.
