We all know, and are even happy sometimes, that our info is up in the cloud. But there are times that even the cloud could have a bad day, a weekend or even a week. You don’t believe me? Ask any T-Mobile Sidekick owner about their experience with the cloud lately, and you’ll see what I mean.

According to our friends at SlashGear, T-Mobile Sidekick owners had been really unfortunate with their cloud experience lately. It seems that users of these devices were able to send text messages and make calls, but, email, Internet and most unfortunate; contacts, were lost. The loss of contacts has to be the biggest blow, what good is it to have text and calls available if you don’t know any of your contacts numbers by heart. Of course it still is better than nothing, and is also good in case of emergency.
On Saturday, an official statement was posted to the T-Mobile Sidekick forum, advising users that personal data stored on their servers and not on the handset itself “has almost certainly been lost”, together with the ominous advice that Sidekick handsets shouldn’t be turned off, run down or reset.
Many Pre owners are concern about all this, Palm seems to have a better control over the matter than Danger (the OS builder, now owned by Microsoft). But it still makes some of you out there nervous, I don’t blame you, but it would seem as the cloud is the way of the future for many cellphones nowadays.
