We got our own video of a hands-on demonstration of the Classic application on the Palm Pre. The Classic app will run like any other “card” on the Pre, and can be used with other apps running in the background. This application will be able to support all of the PalmOS applications, which are installed as easily as dragging and dropping the file onto the Pre as if it was any removable drive.

Running the application is as easy as it was on the PalmOS. Applications run full screen, just like any other app. The translation is perfect. Your finger replaces the stylus, and the bottom portion of the screen has a 5-way digital pad, as well as the home button, seach, etc.
We saw a demo of Epocrates, the Prescription handbook for doctors. It is a very popular application on older Palm devices, and this compatibility will enable many to upgrade to the Palm Pre without incident. Other PalmOS applications will be able to run on the Pre, enabling hardcore Centro and Treo users to use their favorite applications and take advantage of all of the features of the Pre.
