The Palm Pre’s gorgeous touch screen will need a screen protector even though it is resistance to scratches. You just never know what may happen to it or worse if dropped it by accident. Bodyguardz and invisibleShields are both excellent accessories that will do the job well.
For Palm Pre, there will be a bundle of Pre accessories online to select from; everything from Backup Batteries to Car Accessories, Chargers, Cables, Headphones, Cradles, Bluetooth Accessories, and more. The list goes on and on, but basically the primary purposes of any Pre accessories are to add functionality, such as where you can use it and what you can use it with, make some features easier to use, and extend the use of the Pre phone phone.
Pre External Backup Battery Accessories
Even though the Palm Pre is expected to have good battery life, it’s still good to have one or two spare batteries when you do need it.
Pre Car mount Accessories
Pre car accessories generally include car chargers, Pre holders, and Pre FM Transmitters. Car chargers generally plug into your car’s power adapter port; sometimes car chargers and FM transmitters are combined into one device. FM transmitters broadcast the music from your Pre to your FM radio, they either plugs into the headphone jack or the dock connector, if they are combined with the car charger, and they usually plug into the dock connector. Pre holders are stands that are somehow affixed to your car, usually with a suction cup, and they firmly grip your Pre so you can use it, navigate the menus, use the maps, etc without having to worry about it sliding all over the place.
Pre Charger Accessories
Pre chargers, the name kind of says it all, they charge your Pre’s battery. They come in one of two types, the first is they just have a USB port and plug into the wall and then you use the USB cable that came with your Pre to connect your Pre to the charger. The second is they have a dock connector hardwired into them and then you plug in the charger and connect your Pre directly to it. Either way, it’s simple and performs the basic task of charging your Instinct.
Pre Accessories and Cables
Cables can do many things, mainly associated with how they connect your Pre to another device or port. There are USB cables they would generally have a dock connector on one end and a USB termination on the other. Most of the other cables somehow connect your Pre to either an audio or video device or a combination of the two. These can connect either via dock connector, or more likely, via the headphone jack.
Pre Headphone Accessories
Headphones are the primary method for listening to music from your Instinct, and with an in-line microphone can also be used for phone calls. There are in-ear ear buds, on-ear headphones that just rest on your ear or around-ear headphones that form some sort of suction around your ear.
Pre Cradle Accessories
Cradles can do many things, ranging from charging your Pre and syncing it to your PC all the way to instantly connecting your Pre to your entire home theater system. Your Pre may have came with a cradle that can do most of that, but if you need an extra, say a spare for your office, or on the likely occasion your computer and home theater aren’t in the same room, you can buy an extra cradle.
Pre Bluetooth Accessories
Man Bluetooth accessories will work with the Pre, for hands-free talking. You’ll be able make calls while walking or just simply to lazy to hold the Pre for the duration of the call or especially when you’re driving in your car. The latter is a great option if you aren’t a big fan of Bluetooth headsets but want hands-free functionality while you are driving.
