There was a Prizefight between the iPhone 3Gs and the Palm Pre at the end of July, and according to CNET, the Pre lost for almost nothing. This time they pitted the Pre against the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. And well, you know the drill; five rounds and after that, the winner.

The first round is Sexiness, where they examine the look, size, feel, and sex appeal of the devices. The winner is the MyTouch 3G by 0.4 points. Really CNET? How in hell did that happen? I think is so obvious; the Pre is sexy, every single person that sees my Pre has said it, even my iPhone friends. Second round is Controls and user interface where the design and usability of their displays, user interfaces, and navigation controls are examined. This one is hands down to the Pre, 4.6 to 3.6. Round 3 is Features, here the Pre wins 4.6 to 4 points. Here, special kudos go to multitasking and Synergy on the Palm Pre.

Web browsing and multimedia rule in round 4, where the Pre is victorious again by good margin; 4.6 to 3.3 points. Round 5 is Call quality and general performance where they check out the sound and clarity of phone calls and the quality of the handsets’ speakerphones as well as general performance. I know for experience that the Pre is great during phone calls, but don’t have any experience with the T-Mo MyTouch 3G. CNET gives this round to the T-Mo MyTouch 3G by a very close margin of 0.3 points. And the winner is…The Palm Pre of course.
