Rumor: Palm will Soon fix the App Install Limit with a new WebOS Update

As many of you have notice by now, there is a limit on the space been used to keep the apps we download into our Palm Pre phones. For some reason Palm made this mistake if you will. And now, according to rumors, they soon will fix that mistake with an update to webOS.

With more and more apps making their way into not only the official App Catalog, but also into the homebrew app gallery, many of you out there are started to notice the dreadful “Sorry, Not Enough Memory” error on your Palm Pre. Apparently, Palm decided to place apps in a hidden partition that doesn’t show when you mount the Pre as a USB drive on your computer.

That of course is a problem, since partitions are set to a size, and when that is done, it is difficult to resize. So take this rumor as is, and with a dose of sodium, or a grain of salt if you like. But remember that we might get a webOS update in November, so this rumor might have some truth, who knows, I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The guys at Precentral seem to agree with this theory too.
