I like to read, being a geek it’s mostly sci-fi and the occasional action story. I think a Kindle would be a great device to add to my ever-growing gadget collection so I don’t have to schlep down to the bookstore when I need something new to read. I refuse to read eBooks on my iPhone though, the screen is too small.

If you can stomach a small screen for reading lots of text, a new eBook reading application is now available for the Pre called Shortcovers. The service is an integrated online and mobile service that gives access to eBooks from publishers like Random House, Harper Collins, Hachette, Simon & Schuster, Penguin, and Harlequin.

That’s right ladies, you can now ready your soft (or not so soft) porn novels right on your Pre. The Shortcovers application is offered free on the Pre on-device beta App Catalog. I can feel the headache from reading on the small screen forming now for some of you.
