We have seen the price for the Palm Pre drop before, either by mistake or for a legit special sale. But in this occasion, a tipster at Precentral brings news about the new pricing for the Pre starting tomorrow Sep. 8th. Now, like any other tip, this should be taken with a little grain of salt.

According to the tipster who works at a Sprint “indirect partner retail dealer,” maybe something like Best Buy or non-corporate Sprint stores. From tomorrow September 8th to October 31st, “indirect partners” will be able to sell the Pre for $149.99 after mail-in rebate. Apparently, this will only apply to these indirect Sprint retail channels. But logic predicts it would be only reasonable that identical price cuts will take place at Sprint’s own retail stores, telesales, and Sprint.com.

Now don’t forget about plan pricing, which in this case means that the Everything Data or Simply Everything plan will be require. Well, I guess this had to be done, since the HTC Hero is coming to Sprint at $179.99. You’ll also notice that other Palm products will lower their price too (Centro, Treo 755p, Treo 800w and the Treo Pro). But if you are reading this, chances are, you want the Palm Flagship, yes, the Palm Pre.
