One more about analysts, ha, you got to love'em. Some hate the Palm Pre and even dare to called it dead on arrival before it was launch - I'm happy to say he was wrong - and others give the Pre a break. But this time is something good for a change. Analyst Ken Dulaney of Gartner Research recently upgraded ...

It seems like nowadays almost anybody could just come up with a figure of how many Palm Pre phones have been sold. And that's precisely what some people are doing. Like "analyst" Ashok Kumar, who either has a bone to pick with Palm, or he just hates the Pre and wants it dead at all cost.

The Palm Pre return rate wrangling continues unabated, with RBC analyst Mike Abramsky the latest to step into the fray. After initial return estimates of around 40-percent returns sent Palm's stock price into a tumble, followed by reassurance that, in fact, such figures were possibly based on bad data, Abramsky's team now claim that returns are more likely between 2 ...

We're still waiting to hear from Palm or Sprint as to how many Pre smartphones were sold this weekend, but early estimates from J.P. Morgan analyst Paul Cooster suggest sales in excess of 50,000 units. Low initial stocks - as warned by Sprint CEO Dan Hesse - may have contributed to a sell-out weekend.
"We conclude that the launch of the ...

It sounds like Palm Pre buyers should be prepared for potential disappointment on June 6th, as there's talk of limited numbers of the smartphone being available at launch. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse has told investors that the reason for the relatively low volume of Pre advertising is because the carrier expects shortages.
"We don't intend to advertise it heavily early on ...

iSuppli's estimated breakdown cost for the Palm Pre prompted no small amount of discussion late last month, with their prediction of $138 in hardware and a further $32 in software and IP licensing costs. Now the analysts are back, offering their full Palm Pre teardown report for the bargain price of $1,999.
Yes, you read that correctly: if you'd like to ...

We might be called My Pre, but that doesn't mean we'll stint on any other webOS smartphone Palm throw our way: that's why we're so interested to see what looks to be the company's second handset to use the new platform. The Palm Eos was most definitely leak of the week, a candybar QWERTY handset measuring a scant 10.6mm thick ...
