Since the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus were launched by Big Red they had the same sticker price as their Sprint cousins. But that doesn't mean any other vendor cannot change the price or lowered it, which is now the case with Best Buy as you can see on the image below.

A lot of you might remember when Best Buy had the Palm Pre for $849.99 with out a contract, and $199.99 with a two year contract, no MIR. Well yesterday they had the Palm Pre at $99.99 with a two year contract.

Grumblings have been circulating around the Internet that Best Buy stores may have as few as three Pres per store on launch day. Engadget reports that a tipster has leaked the stock levels for launch day at some of the major Best Buy stores in Illinois.

Talk of limited numbers of Pre handsets on launch day continues, with word from one Best Buy insider that the retailer will only get around four handsets per store on June 6th. Best Buy's inventory system listing for the Palm Touchstone inductive charger has changed the "In Stock Date" to June 7th, following the listing's appearance late last week. That's led many to assume that the Pre could drop on the same date, which - as Sprint followers will know - is a Sunday and thus the carrier's typical release day.
