Palm's Eos has been the surprise leak of the day, with details about the rumored smartphone spilling out across the net. After the blurry shot of the second Palm webOS device earlier today, now we have a far better look at the QWERTY handset. Apparently called the Palm Eos, the device will be a quadband GSM/HSDPA smartphone measuring just 10.6mm thick and with a 2.63-inch 320 x 400 capacitive touchscreen.

Things are getting mighty confusing in Palm rumor land, as a small, blurry image that the Boy Genius swears blind is legitimate suggests that the second webOS device will be a QWERTY candybar. The image came with no proposed specifications, only the expectation that it would be released in the fall.

According to the latest rumors, Palm isn't relying solely on the Pre to turn their fortunes around. The company is said to have a smaller handset, still running webOS, "very far along" in development, that is set to reach the market in late 2009, potentially as early as the fall.
