It was about a week ago that Palm released the Pre in Canada, they also gave the App Catalog a little boost with four new apps. This time they finally put some meat in that hamburger, hey…wait a minute, I think I’m hungry. Anyway, they released thirteen new apps into the Catalog.

In the image above you can see three samples of the new apps. Lets start with the DIRECTV NFL Mobile, which gives DIRECTV SuperFan subscribers a live stream of every NFL Sunday Ticket game (season starts September 13) as well as the Red Zone channel. It also offers player and team stats and highlight video clips from every game as they happen. Next is WikiHow, this new app keeps “how to” instructions for just about any problem you might run into – like how to change a tire, how to do basic first aid, performing CPR, even escaping a minefield! – Emergency tips are cached in a “Survival Kit” so you can be sure you’ll be ready at all times.
Third on that image is Tip ‘Em!, a Tip Calculator and check Splitter that adds some coffee-stained touches of realism. The rest of the new applications will be briefly explain in the following list. So keep on reading!
* Translator: Translates between 45 different languages using the Google Translate tool. For those on the know, this one started as a homebrew app back when they could be installed via the email hack method before Palm locked it down. I been using it since, so I’m glad to see it in the official App Catalog now. Congrats Janni Kovacs!
* The Globe and Mail: Bringing News of Canada to the Palm Pre. Great for the new Pre owners with Bell.
* TMaps–DC: A map of DC area buses and trains.
* Express Horoscopes: Special features include; Birthday readings and celebrity birthdays for each day.
* Dumb Waiter: Calculate the tip based on the service you received.
* Zilch Lite: Another dice game.
* Photo Dialer: Just dial by tapping the picture of those that you talk to the most.
* UberPass: Secure information manager and password generator.
* Lemonade: The classic game of building a business by selling lemonade makes its way to the Palm Pre.
* CoinFlip: Need to make a quick decision? Flip a coin. Don’t have a coin? Well, you have the Pre, for crying out loud!
