A few days shy of the 6th month since the Palm Pre was released, the App Catalog has reached the 500 apps barrier, well, it actually has 504 apps so far. The last time I really got excited about the App Catalog was when it reached 356 apps, which seems like a long time, but it was actually just a couple of weeks ago.

There has been a slow but steady infusion of applications into the Palm App Catalog, but I decided to wait until the 500 goal was reached. It is a pleasure to inform you that we have 504 apps now. Now there are more free and paid apps that will provide to the needs of many more Pre and Pixi users.
One of those free apps seems to be a real gem; is called Space Alarm, by Fu. Which apparently, will make a good use of the location services in your webOS device, by sounding an alarm when you get close to a pre-defined destination. Another free app that seems to be great at first sight is Visual Voicemail, by Mobile Entertainment Group. And I say at first sight because it isn’t a visual voicemail for your Sprint voicemail, instead, when you download the app, you are asked for your Google Voice number and password. So it will just give you visual voicemail of your Google Voice number. But if you already use the gDial Pro app, the visual voicemail feature is embedded in there, and is really good if you ask me.
