The Palm Pre is Oficially Canadian Too, New Apps to Celebrate

Finally the Palm Pre is on Canadian hands, it wasn’t long ago we brought news of the official launch. Well, yesterday was the big day for our neighbors up north. And to celebrate, Palm released four new apps. Lets face it, we didn’t feel good with only 41 apps in the App Catalog.

The Bell Palm Pre is priced at CA$199.95 with a new three-year contract, and delivers the same EVDO Rev.A connectivity, as the Sprint US model. And basically is the same device with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, capacitive touchscreen and webOS – with multitasking and synergy – goodness. And don’t forget the monthly plans, which start from CA$45 per month with voice/message/data with a 500MB allowance. But if you want unlimited data, you’ll need to step up to at least CA$60 per month.

And now to the newest apps; The first one is Yelp, which is yet another restaurant app, although many of us think is one of the best. So go on and give it a try. Next is Yahtzee Demo, a demo game that involves rolling a dice to play, but it’s actually fun. The third app is Tetris Mania Demo, from Electronic Arts. It’s also just a demo, but puts a new spin on the great original. And available in english and French for our fellow neighbors up north, The Canadian Press Mobile, national and world news and pics right on your Pre.
