By now, chances are you already notice that Sprint yanked the support webpage where the webOS 1.2 and Sprint Config. 1.8 were before. According to Sprint’s webpage support, the webOS was coming out on Sep. 8th, well that didn’t happen. Also, you might notice that with the arrival of iTunes 9 into the scene, the Pre doesn’t sync with iTunes anymore.

Most, if not all of us were waiting for this webOS update for our Pre phones, but amidst these crazy news comes hope. A moderator at Sprint’s Palm Pre General Discussion forum posted yesterday:
“Web OS Update 1.2.0 – DELAYED”
Many of you were expecting an update today, but unfortunately it has been delayed.
I do not have an estimated launch date at this time, but this is not expected to be a long delay. I will keep you all posted as I get more info.
Well, we know webOS is coming, and apparently, is coming soon. I just hope they are fine tuning the App Catalog for new – or maybe paid – apps. Or even adding some enhancements that were not included in the list posted on Sprint’s webpage support. Another sign of hope comes via Palm’s own update information webpage, where we can see that a little change was made; they removed the version number from the icon.
We all know there has been a little mouse and cat game going on between Apple and Palm with the Pre and iTunes for some time now. And we also were hoping for an end to that game with the arrival of iTunes 9, I guess that was just day-dreaming. Well, maybe Palm and Sprint ‘delayed’ the webOS 1.2 update because they suspected Apple would try to thwart the Pre sync with iTunes again. And apparently that’s exactly what Apple did.
