Many have wonder if Palm would launch the Pre all over the world. We allready know the Pre is in Canada on the Bell network, and in just a few more days the Pre will hit Germany, Spain, Ireland and the UK. How about the rest of the world? Well, it appears Mexico is next to get the first webOS phone by next month.

It all started yesterday morning, when a Mexican blogger named Javier Matuk, was showing the Palm Pre to another person who was taking video of it. Matuk had a GSM Pre working with the Telcel network in Mexico, Telcel is the biggest – and most expensive – carrier in the Aztec land. But what really caught everyone off guard was that he mentioned that the Pre had expandable storage.
Now, I did watch the two youtube videos and he said here’s where the Micro SD goes. And just in case you wonder, yes, I do speak Spanish, so it’s no mistake what I heard. If you ask me, I honestly think he was so excited that he just pop the back of the Pre open and thought it did have expandable storage. At least that’s what I think, the case is, he did not take the battery out to confirmed it.
Matuk also said “the Palm Pre will be release on Telcel in a month” which is good for those who want to bring the GSM Pre to the States with out going all the way across the pond. The bad news is, the videos were taken off youtube after someone from Telcel called him about them – that’s why there’s only an image below instead of the actual videos – and even his post about the Pre was deleted and updated with an “Ooops, parece que hicimos algo antes de tiempo” which translates to ooops, it looks like we did something before time. But he also reasures his readers that they will soon come back with all the info, prices, details and much, much more. I have called him and emailed him, but so far no answer, lets hope he has something else soon about the Pre in Mexico.
Well, what do you know, someone else has uploaded the youtube videos of the GSM Mexican Pre, so you can check them out and come to your own conclusions. I have also contacted Telcel in Mexico and according to the PR lady who took my call, “we (Telcel) have many surprises coming soon for our subscribers, there’s no doubt in my mind that the new webOS experience will not be denied to the Mexican people, now, if you excuse me, I can not say more than that”. Well folks, there you have it, make what you will out of all this, but if Matuk is right, in about a month, the GSM Pre will also have a Mexican home.
