Will the Pre hit Verizon on 2010? Rumors say Maybe

As we all know Verizon and AT&T have said before they will have webOS devices on 2010. And Verizon has shown more interest for the Pre, with rumors saying VZW would have the Pre as early as January. There were also people thinking the Pre would not make good sales in the VZW network.

Well, now there are different people saying that Verizon has decided to skip on the Pre. Most of us know that even Verizon’s CEO Lowell McAdam has said that the wireless carrier would have Palm’s webOS device in January. But according to sources close to the discussions, Verizon has decided not to support the Pre.

Now, if Verizon really decided to pass on the Palm Pre, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are passing on any other webOS devices. According to the rumors, this is due in part to Verizon not been impressed with Pre sales to date. The other reason is Palm’s reluctance to feature Verizon’s VCast apps, which would conflict with Palm’s App Catalog.

According to other analysts, the rumors about Verizon passing on the Pre are ludicrous. Lets take in consideration what Deutsche Bank’s Jonathan Goldberg writes:

Our checks continue to point to healthy carrier demand for the Pre early in calendar 2010. We believe Palm has placed orders with the supply chain for another version of the Pre with features highly consistent with a Verizon launch
